I’m not someone who reviews every shiny new keto product that lands in my inbox. But when something becomes a genuine part of my daily routine — something I’ve relied on for years and years — it feels wrong NOT to talk about it. Carb Manager is that app. Today I’m sharing exactly why I love it, what makes it stand out, and — most importantly — how you can find me on there so we can keep each other accountable. 👋
What Is Carb Manager?
Carb Manager is a food tracking app designed with low-carb and keto lifestyles in mind — though honestly, it works beautifully for anyone who needs to track their nutrition. At its core, it lets you log everything you eat, tracks your macros in real time, and helps you stay on top of your daily goals. But it’s so much more than a simple food diary.
I’ve been using it for years now. Not as a phase. Not as a “I’ll try this for 30 days” experiment. It’s just part of how I live my keto lifestyle — as natural as meal prepping on a Sunday or checking my electrolytes in the morning.
Phone App AND Browser — This Is a Bigger Deal Than It Sounds
One of my favorite things about Carb Manager — and something I don’t see talked about enough — is that it works seamlessly on both your phone and your computer browser. Your data syncs across both automatically.
Why does that matter? Because life doesn’t always happen on your phone. Sometimes I’m at my desk planning out the week’s meals, or logging a recipe I’m building on my laptop. Other times I’m in the grocery store with my phone, scanning barcodes on the fly. With Carb Manager, I can do both — and everything stays perfectly in sync. No double entry, no “wait, did I log that?” moments.
If an app only works well on one device, it’s eventually going to create friction — and friction is what makes people quit tracking. Carb Manager removes that friction completely.
The Food Database Is Enormous
One of the biggest frustrations with food tracking apps is when you search for something and come up empty. Or worse — you find it, but the macros are clearly wrong and you’re not sure if you can trust it.
Carb Manager has one of the most extensive food databases I’ve ever used. We’re talking millions of items — brand name packaged foods, restaurant items, whole foods, you name it. You can scan a barcode with your phone camera and it usually pulls up the item instantly. It’s genuinely impressive how rarely I’ve had to add something manually because it wasn’t in the database.
And when I DO need to add something? The manual entry is quick and simple. No hoops, no hassle.
The Custom Recipe Builder Is a Game Changer 👩🍳
This is honestly one of my favorite features. If you cook your own food — and on keto, you probably do a lot of that — the custom recipe builder is absolutely invaluable.
Here’s how it works: you enter each ingredient in your recipe, the quantity you used, and the number of servings the recipe makes. Carb Manager then calculates the full macro breakdown per serving — calories, net carbs, fat, protein, fiber, all of it. Save it once, and it’s in your personal library forever. Log it with one tap every time you make it again.
I have years’ worth of my own recipes saved in there — from weeknight dinners to fat bombs to meal prep staples. It takes the guesswork completely out of eating food you’ve made yourself, which is honestly where a lot of keto trackers fall apart.
Goal Tracking That Actually Makes Sense for Keto
A lot of general nutrition apps are still very calorie-focused. Which is fine — but for keto, macros are what matter. Net carbs, fat percentage, protein targets — those are the numbers that keep you in ketosis and feeling your best.
Carb Manager gets this. You set your macro goals, and the dashboard shows you exactly where you stand in real time as you log throughout the day. You can see at a glance how many net carbs you have left, whether you’re hitting your fat targets, and whether your protein is in range. It’s laid out in a way that actually makes sense for the way we eat — not a one-size-fits-all calorie counter with a keto skin slapped on top.
It also tracks things like water intake, intermittent fasting windows, weight, and more — so if you’re combining keto with IF (which, as you know, I’m a big fan of 😉), you can track all of it in one place.
Not Just for Keto — Great for Any Diet That Involves Tracking
Here’s something I think is worth mentioning: Carb Manager isn’t exclusively a keto app. Yes, it’s built with low-carb lifestyles at its core — but the platform supports all kinds of dietary approaches. Paleo, clean eating, calorie counting, low sugar, high protein — it’s flexible enough to handle whatever your goals are.
So if you have a friend or family member who isn’t doing keto but wants to start tracking their food, this is still a great recommendation. It’s one of those rare apps that genuinely works across different dietary styles without feeling watered down for any of them.
Come Find Me on Carb Manager! 🙌
This is the part I’m most excited to share. Carb Manager has a community/friends feature — and I would absolutely love for you to add me!
There’s something really powerful about knowing other people can see your streak, your progress, your consistency. It’s not about judgment — it’s about accountability. And accountability is one of the biggest things that keeps us showing up on the hard days, the busy days, the “I-really-don’t-want-to-track-today” days.
Find me on Carb Manager — my username is CrazyKetoChick. Send me a friend request and let’s do this together! 💪
I’d love to build a little community of us in there — people who are serious about their keto lifestyle, tracking consistently, and cheering each other on. It’s also a great way to get to know me beyond the blog — see what I’m actually eating day to day, what recipes I’m logging, and how I’m managing my own macros in real life (spoiler: it’s not always perfect, and that’s okay 😄).
My Honest Bottom Line
I’ve tried other tracking apps. Some are fine. But Carb Manager is the one I keep coming back to — year after year — because it just works. It works on my phone when I’m out and about. It works in my browser when I’m at my desk. It handles my custom recipes, respects my macros, and now it even lets me connect with people like you.
If you’re not tracking yet, this is the app I’d tell you to start with. And if you’re already on it — come find me! I’ll be looking out for those friend requests. 💛
